Thrainsa! Wan! We blast off at the speed of light! 4

Wan • 5 years ago on 3rd Alakajam!

With @thrainsa we are going to join our forces once again! Here's our past Alakajam! entries:

1st Alakajam! 2nd Alakajam
Theme: Alchemy Theme: You can't see everything

Philosopher's Strike

(4th place overall)

Sword of Sight

(3rd place overall)

We're going for Unity (C#) as usual. I'll be using, again as usual, Reason & Photoshop for music and art respectively, plus Blender if we end up making a 3D game.

Not sure what we'll want to make this time, but hopefully something not too ambitious so we can have enough time for contents & polish. Maybe an MMORPG.

Good idea making an MMORPG. You can easily finish that on the first day, so it will leave you with plenty of time on the second day to add photorealistic physics-based rendering, fifteen character classes, an infinite open world, fully destructible terrain and multiple procedurally generated quest lines.

@thomastc I don't think fifteen character classes is reasonable. We will limit at 10 too be sure to have time to finish it ^^

To be serious, I would really like to create a small strategy or tower defense game. Or maybe another plateformer @Wan? It's been a long time since last one ;)

@Thrainsa I'm actually kinda excited for a platformer, hopefully something quite stylized, maybe using shapes/prefabs instead of tiles. Making Assault on Mosul was super fun and I'd love to try that level-design approach once again.

…Now if we're ambitious we could even try for 3D platforming like Spyro or Jak & Daxter :D

Good luck! I'm sure you can manage something great! You know, I feel like if you wanted to do something that is "kinda" an MMO, but is not, maybe pretty meta and selfreferential, you could to it in little time.

Always expecting to see what you come up with! Do not get too tangled up with a complex genre even before you know the theme :)
