Turbo/Glide is a car racing game with a car that is secretly also a glider plane.
The plane doesn't have any engine, so you have to build up kinetic energy in car mode.
[Up] - Throttle
[Down] - Brake
[Left] - Pitch plane left
[Right] - Pitch plane right
[C] - Turn car / flip plane
[X] - Shapeshift between car and plane mode
[R] - Restart level
Note that you don't use [Down] to steer up ;-)
Played this for the 1st AKJ tourny. This was a cool little game with surprisingly flexible controls in that I think the level we played was supposed to be a three-step journey but made into a single flight by mr toasty. Or maybe it was meant to be solved that way all along? Either way I felt GREAT when I finally made it!
I really love this game. The mechanics are neat, and the physics are great. SFX and music work well and the art is simple but sufficient (maybe some backgrounds and simple terrain effects wouldn't hurt though). The competitive play adds nicely to the original, too. I think without it I'd never have realised you could solve the tournament level in a single flight, and given the mechanics there will probably be loads of similar situations. I'd definitely pay for a fuller version of it, especially if you could inject some more competitive play like we've had in the tournament (e.g. a global scoreboard).
