I loved it! I kept getting to situations where I could catch the burger but it didn't seem to score me or give me a new burger to make. Also, there is no audio? I did not rate you for audio.

Completely in the theme, with a cool gameplay even if not very original.
Congretulations for finishing and publishing your game !

(It's a pity the ingredients are not very visible with colors of the wall)

Hey! Thank you for those who left ratings :3! Really appreciate it!!

So yeah, sad to say that I ran out of time to add any kind of audio to the game :(. It was honestly my last thought and I spent way too long trying to figure out the coding aspect of it. I wanted to add a goofy track and have things go splat onto the plate, but that's for future development.

And yes! I'm honestly kicking myself for that background I made, haha. I don't know if it was the lack of sleep or what, but part of me during the final hours was like, "Let's make a colorful background with reds and yellows to pop out!" Then when I tested it in the final hour I realized, "I CAN'T SEE MY TOMATOES AND CHEESE!! D:!!" But yeah, something I wanted to fix if only I'd thought of it earlier.

Here's to Future Development! :3

Excellent use of theme - falling ingredients to make a burger! Looks like game will benefit with some sounds and animations. But it was an amusing puzzle game. With polish, i can imagine people playing this game for hours while waiting. Maybe have a penalty of some sort for missing ingredients or reward for forming burger faster, like a timer to form a burger and gives you a point multiplier when accomplished. Keep up the good work!

Overall a great entry. This is my 1st Alakajam so seeing entries like yours inspire me for the next jam.

Great! ….. now im hungry.

I did notice that sometimes you cant hepl but catch the wrong items, a tedious challenge.
i would sudgest a bin on both sides or another key to press to drop it and start over. many times id go to get another bun and pick up some unwanted lettuce.

Still Good Job!

@akusan I think those are some great ideas for challenges. I meant to add timers and such, but I honestly didn't know how xD;. Something to research!

@Rardo You make a good point. Precariously putting a trash bin beneath where the food is falling had to have been a struggle >< I'll make sure to put the trash bin in a safer area next time!

Thank you both for playing and commenting! :3

Yeah, I'll take the number two. ~

Seriously though, great game. I liked this alot, and can be really addicting if it got put on something like the Google Play store. Good job!

@Orionintheforest Ah yes, the triple quadruple heart attack special, with cheeses. A classic!
I'm glad you enjoyed and shared your masterpiece of a sandwhich, haha.

I enjoyed it. It was frustrating that most of my time was spent waiting; could be minutes before the next tomato shows up. But that's the food business. Makes me wonder if you ever felt like ruining the simplicity and effectiveness of what you have here… you could have a "candy crush" mini-game with the falling food in the event not enough of a certain crop are spawning. This would be wildly popular on phones.

One thought: you could remove the text for burger and lettuce and tomato, which I found to be difficult to differentiate in-game, and just put pictures of the items. That will eliminate any language barrier also.

Enjoyable! Cute, simple, effective, thematic. Go make some money!

The image of cooks frantically tossing ingredients out of a window makes me chuckle. 'Door coming soon' indeed :-)

Nice interactive help!

Sound effects are quite easy to make, and would already help a lot!
Have you heard of BFXR for example?

I've noticed that the bottom bun doesn't need to be the first thing on the plate in order to register it as a valid burger. It does make it a little bit easier, as you can try for the ingredients first, then go to both bun-windows in order afterwards.)

Oh, one other thing, the 'top buns' and 'bottom buns' signs are in front of the falling ingredients.

It may be simple, but it does it's job well.

Now I want a burger, but I just ate… :-)

That was really good, nice one! Good idea and you did well to get most of the pieces in place within the time! Just need to add some little features like starts and finishes a timer or something and you've got a ready to go mobile game! Good job!

@Aquasheep Ah yes, the random generation bugged me a bit too. Something I need to fix so that you're not waiting so long for one ingredient, especially if I decide to make a timer for the game.

@remco I've never heard of BFXR before, but I'll definitely give it a look. And yeah, I wanted to add a code that needed the bottom bun as the first drop, but I just didn't have the time :(. Though I thought it would be kinda funny to serve a burger with all the stuff below the buns xD Amusing but not practical I'm sure.

@Ztuu Thanks for playing! I agree adding a reachable goal would complete this game in several ways. I honestly never thought about the mobile market until now, but it's an interesting idea.

Thank you all for taking the time to play! :3

The concept of cooks throwing food out the window for others to catch and assemble correctly is hilarious. It'd be funny if food you miss starts to pile up in the background. This is really addicting as is tbh and I agree with the above feedback, this could very easily be a mobile game after it's polished with audio and better graphics.

I had the same issue of accidentally catching extra ingredients on the way between doors, since they fell so close together. A lot of food got thrown away :( Also, maybe add a visual indicator for when the correct number of items are on the plate? Such as the number of an item is red and once you have the correct amount it turns green.

Overall, this is a really fun game. Great job!

@cygni Thanks for playing! Yeah, I think that something to measure your progress would be a great addition in the future o:!

Talk about food waste!

Isn't burger an abreviation of hamburger, the name of the dish? Patty or steak being the meat/protein part?

More erratic falling food patterns would add to the challenge. Different speeds for different ingredients, for instance.

The backstory and the background are both pretty funny.

Squishy sound effects would add to the humor.

The cooks shouting instructions from the top would as well!

I would not call this a puzzle as it is obvious what to do. The challenge lies in dexterity and reactions, not in deductive logic.

For your first 48 hour jam project? Not bad!

These were my random thoughts of the day.

@HuvaaKoodia Hey, thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed the humorous tone of my game :) I did think about changing up how fast certain food fell, but I never got a chance to impliment it, but I think it's a great idea! Sound fx would be pretty nice too, I agree.

Really cool Game. The mechanics and controlls were working perfect. The graphics were really nice even though there was a lack of animations but this was probably because of time reasons. The burgers may have been a bit bigger to make them more challenging, because it was a bit easy to make some of those, but all in all it's a really great game and reminds me of Sky Burger, while being different, because you need to get the buns yourself and because you can retry anytime.
