Cabbage Climber

A pitiful cabbage climbs an unforgiving tower

Climb an endless series of rooms in a tower inspired by the Discordian tarot major arcana. Face the beasts and priests of the five biomes: Sweet, Boom, Pungent, Prickle, and Orange!

You are a cabbage climbing a tower with little to defend yourself besides jumping on your enemies.

A/D or arrows to move, space or up to jump. Double jump enabled.

Edit 1:
Difficulty is a bit high, planning on reducing it and publishing downloadable builds that are easier to see the whole game with. WebGL will retain the original entry difficutly for reviewing purposes.

My main focus in this jam was enemy design, so feedback on them is especially appreciated!

Edit 2:
Added downloadable Windows, Mac, and Linux builds. These builds are modified to be easier so all 5 zones are more easily reachable.

The WebGL build is the official jam entry.

pros:

  • good starter platformer
  • plenty of variations in enemies

cons:

  • ran into some collision bugs

Very fun how the cabbage lose his lifes. Otherwise the game is very original and hard. Too hard. But GG

Phew, hard game, in part to the clunky controls. Agreed that losing the leaves is a very cool touch. Made it to the third level by fluking the second :D

tough game! Simple but a solid platformer in the works. The corners of the some of the platforms seemed kinda "sticky".
