Excellent game, very challenging ! The escape athmosphere is very well done ! The light mecanic works good. Fun moment when the gameplay change ! Great job !

tower - check
nice to listen to music - check
stealth platformer - check
slightly floaty/glitchy physics - check
intresting mechanics - check

onlything I could say would be nice is some more variations in the rooms/mechanics - the mechanics get old quick and multiple screens I spent more time waiting for the right time then playing the level.

Superb!

Very well produced, and good level design. I especially enjoyed the introduction cinematics.
After several levels I was missin some new mechanics… and HOP, the princess gets down along the rope !
Really good job, meaning a lot of work I guess.

That's a lot of content for a jam game! Nice variety in the levels as well. That being said, I wish the controls were a bit snappier. The rope climbing levels were a nice addition, but also a bit painful with the floaty and slightly erratic jumping mechanics. Now don't get me wrong, the mechanics aren't bad for a jam platformer and they work nicely in the normal levels. But fast paced levels with very precise jumping patterns such as your rope climbing levels really require the mechanics to be spot-on.

All in all, a very nice and enjoyable entry. I spent a good 30 minutes playing it - that's a lot for a jam game!

Wow, what a gem! I love the music, such epic soundtracks :D
I was also pleasantly surprised by the rope levels, I fell an embarrassingly large number of times for the fake wall thing at the start. In the middle were a few really random, trivial levels which made me fear that the game was almost over, but the hardest parts were still to come.
Congrats!

Pros:

  • Cute pixel art gives the game an innocent charm
  • Quality music throughout, I don't think I could have gotten through the rope sections without that beat keeping me pumped up.
  • Manages to fit a good amount of variety into the platformer formula, keeping gameplay fresh throughout
  • Fast respawns reduce the pain of any player deaths.

Cons:
The rope sections. While I applaud your attempts to freshen up gameplay, and absolutley adore the music that plays during these sections. I hated the gameplay of them. They are simply unfair to the point of being insulting to the player. There isn't enough time to react to obstacles when the screen is scrolling veritcally like that, turning it from a skill based challenge to a memory based one, where every success can only come after at least one failure. The platforming at this part is also excessivley precise, having to remember both the timing and height of each jump is just too much. Some of the spike patterens even seemed designed to troll the player, like the very last spike at the end of the second rope section. As a player, I never like to be treated like a chump, it really soured the experience for me.

I apologise if this seems overly negative, but we have to be honest, or no one can ever improve.
Overall I think it's a sweet game, you got a lot of content out of just a few mechanics, and you should be proud of it.
