First of all, I loved the name of this game.
Amazing combination of proposed theme and the mechanic of dating sims games. As already said above, unexpected.

Loved the graphics. Easy mechanic and the game is very responsive.
Music and SFX are lovely. Damn, everything about this game is cute.

Great job, srsly.

Well, what to say. It was pretty nice because of graphics, but gameplay was none.

What to say. Others rate this game positively, but I have to say that this is gamejam and not graphics jam. You have two interactions in the game with two buttons and the progress is a bit slow. Yes graphics are good and polished, audio is fine too, but from the gameplay perspective, it is a bit boring, I'm sorry.

So, I agree that gameplay is lacking a bit, but there is some strategy to it. I had to remind myself that you need to click the character without the thought bubble with the correct style, which is a bit brain-bendy and makes it quite engaging.

I think people are being a bit too harsh here in the comments lately. Yes it's a game jam, but art is part of a game, and we have categories for rating things based on what was most successful. The art and atmosphere here is really nicely polished, and I was impressed that you managed to make a pretty shark girl and a kind of aloof looking guy shark. …Those are words I never thought I'd say, but you captured the dinner date concept pretty darn well.

The music sells the setting, too, and I think everything works well for a light, laid back experience. Some ways to expand this concept could be: more styles of comments (mousewheel/visible menu to select), colored thought bubbles by style for quicker pattern recognition, and a "menu" to buy special effect orders that show up on the table, between rounds. As-is, though, I really think this game is already quite special, and I hope some of the negative comments here don't put you off of the great work you did this weekend. It's a very nice game.

A lovely experience!

Gameplay is a bit dry, but it's a fun idea. I can see this growing into a neat maintenance game or something.

Looks great, particularly like the design of the love bar. Nice job!
