(Spell)cast

A simple puzzle with a software wizard to assist you.

EDIT -- Looks like there was a bug where scenes would double reload, was causing issues and crashing and people weren't able to finish the game. Have posted a fixed version of the game to the itch page. I checked the rules first and it seems that that's okay, hopefully not mucking anything about too much. Thanks again for everyone's feedback!

A little puzzle game, fairly straightforward, controls are on the itch link.

Great work everyone!

"Please use the wizard to complete this game" - Well played, mate.

I loved the mechanics. Nice puzzle that feels great. I'm looking forward to see a version of this game with actual music :)

Thank you! Hah hah, yeah, unfortunately sound got left to the wayside this time.

I'm keen to try your game, it looks great!

At first I was confused because none of the buttons worked, then I realized I had to use the keyboard.
The actuall game is fun to play, though it can be tedious to move the items one by one. like thesunda said, it would be better with sound. I liked how you gave it a Windows 95 theme mixed in with the 3D graphics. Actually, I made a game with Windows 95 graphics for LD 41. Overall, this is a good game with good puzzles.

Heh, yeah that's fair, a little more explanation might go a long way.

I'm glad you liked the look of it! I wanted to push the theming a lot harder actually, so maybe I'll return to this concept later.

I'll have to go have a peak at that game of yours as well! Sounds neat. ^_^

Awesome concept, Also pretty great execution. Could have reaaaally used a tutorial tho, mainly had to guess to find the controls. The game crashed on the 3rd level… idk if it's on purpose of not, but my computer couldn't take the amount of cloning happening. Love the Sam'o'nella refference in level 3 tho!

Thanks for giving it a play!

I've pushed up a fixed version now, so hopefully things will stop exploding for folks heh.

And I'm glad you liked it! Although it was entirely unintentional, whatever the reference was hah hah. ^_^

It's not about spellcasting at all, but still pretty nice puzzle with cute graphics and familiar mechanics

Thanks for giving it a play!

Hah hah, yeah, I was going for the idea of casting information from one type into another, with the spell flavour coming in the form of the install wizard.

Cheers!

Really original puzzle game, I liked it!
Also the 3D art with the old windows UI is a perfect mix!
Maybe the controls would be better if more responsive, but for a 48 hours jam they are fine!
Good job! :)

Thank you so much!

Hah hah, yeah, the controls are a touch clunky. Especially the keyboard ones, I actually just threw them in at the last second. I'd like to make the relationship between the wizard and cursor more useful, 'cause at the moment, it just serves as a weight.

This looks like something I'd like to play… since you're using Unity, would it be easy to put up a web or Linux build?

That should totally be feasible! I'm not sure I'll be able to do it before the end of the jam though, sorry. Thank you for stopping by in any case!
